etc, etc

RULES

Not very picky as long as you're showing an honest to God effort. Just . . know the character you're playing, know the information that your character would know. Odds are if you're playing a character like Romana, you're going to need to know some Gallifreyan history, etc, etc. It's all I ask, this is information that is readily available to you online, some of which I've already listed in the links above. Last but not least, no one liners. Give me something to work with and we'll have a good time.

PAIRINGS

Rose/Ten is generally my cup-o-tea, whatever the canon/AU scenario. If you want to try an incarnation of Romana against Ten, you're more than welcome to approach me about any ideas you might have. Anyone else is up for discussion at the moment.

Questions can go in the comments.

The Doctor @ DW.
So, I cracked and made a Dreamwidth account. The Doctor can now also be found at Dreamwidth. Please feel free to add if you happen to have an account. ♥

PS: I still fully intend to use insanejournal as my main!

"I think you need a doctor."

Because apparently I'm completely out of my skull, I decided to pick up one of [info]100_situations prompt tables and see what sort of trouble I could get up to. I doubt I'll use this for drabble or fic as was originally intended, but more for one-shot storyline inspiration. My muse is terribly ADD, someone has to keep me motivated. Here's looking at you, [info]rosetyler - and anyone else who might be interested in some random shenanigans.

I came first in jiggery pokery, what about you? )

so about that.
Haven't died, I've just been working overnights (inventory again!) for the last week. Work decided to be awesome and throw me some unscheduled morning shifts directly after and I've been struggling to catch up on my personal life as well as sleep ever since. On top of that, I have about 10 hours of training certification reading/testing I need to finish between now and Saturday morning.

Once this weekend is over and done with, things should return to their regularly scheduled programming. Thanks!

MINI-HIATUS - RETURNING (3/21/09)

Hey, kids--

I haven't forgotten about you, but work has been a complete bit of a madhouse, so I'm not going to be replying to posts or creating any new threads until Saturday. I'm heading out of town to visit with the folks over the weekend, but I'll be available later in the evening to catch up on what I've gotten behind on as a result of my work schedule.

NOTE: Hello to those of you joining from [info]aternaville! I look forward to playing with you all in the very near future! If you have any questions niggling at your brain regarding Ten, don't be a stranger and comment. See ya soon!

xoxo, Lala

NAME: The Doctor (Ten)

AGE: 904, roughly.

HEIGHT: 6'1"

POINT TAKEN FROM CANON TIMELINE OR AU: This portrayal is 100% canon, which means all of the events occurring in the episode(s) "Journey's End" through "The Next Doctor" have transpired in this Doctor's timeline.

BRIEF PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION: For a nine centuries old alien time traveler, he’s adopted quite an eclectic bunch of personality traits over his ten regenerations. We’ll say charmingly eccentric and manic to a fault in his tenth incarnation. Extreme emotional highs and lows, as well as an insatiable childlike curiosity for the most mundane of things. He’s Albert Einstein, Frank Lloyd Wright and Robin Hood all at once. Positive behavioral traits aside, he can at times be quite merciless in the face of moral and ethical injustice. He is also prone to displaying indifference, listlessness and might appear quite rude in the face of otherwise commonplace earthen traditions.

writing samples
The following six writing samples are from various storylines I've been involved with in the past, I'm aware they won't make much sense unless you were in them. It'll at least give you somewhat of an idea of my previous experience. <3

SAMPLE ONE

It was cool outside, the temperature already clinging to his skin in the form of a fresh morning dew. Bothersome wasn’t quite the word for it, but it was peculiar to feel affected by the climate when he’d spent centuries without so much as batting an eye to the differing conditions of a countless number of world’s. It almost tickled against the hair on his arms, its residue thick and leaving what little of him was exposed outside of his blue suit damp and clammy. His fingers rubbed idly at the bone in his wrist, their tips touching at the little change as his senses hummed with the sensation of a new experience. “Adjustment, makes a fairly kind excuse, but doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll ever accept the change, whatever it may be,” he murmured, ignoring her apology in a moment of distraction as he began to tug at the ends of his cuffs, drawing the heavy fabric over his wrists in order to fend off the wet chill.

He filled his lungs with the early air, discovering a similar feeling as the dew stuck in his nose and left an invisible film across his mouth, something that was altogether strange, but not entirely unpleasant. He cleared his throat stiffly, quietly collecting himself from the newness this human body afforded to focus on the sleepless blond at his side. “I was exiled here once, did you know that?” he said, voice as faraway as his eyes on the forming horizon. “Well, it wasn’t quite here, was it? The other one, proper earth, home, at least to you,” his fingers moved across the cuff of his left hand to draw circles in the slick precipitation which formed on the balcony railing. “It was my punishment for meddling, never did see eye-to-eye with my people, at least not well enough to stay in the good graces of our politicians,” he muttered and instead of fondness in his tone, there was the darkness again, the unresolved and directionless bitterness that the other him had been clever enough to see and warn after. But just as it had come, it was gone and the reflection in his voice was once again neutral.

“Anyway, but here, on earth, long time for a Time Lord to be held in a single place. Unheard of, at least for me, but that was centuries ago, I was only on my third regeneration back then. I got used to it,” he shrugged with one shoulder, half-hearted, but there. “Settled in, bought a toaster - love toasters – beans on toast every morning, afternoon tea, even had a car, would you imagine?” he exhaled softly, eyeing her from the side without turning toward her and granting any sort of direct attention. “Went a bit native with the vintage automobile, even named it, called her Bessie,” he grasped the railing and stretched his back slightly, before straightening entirely and turning toward her, leaning his hip into the metal she continued to cling to. “Suppose that was my method for coping, at the time,” he said quietly, watching her with the same sensitivity in brown eyes.
